A look back at 2023…
Our main focus over the last year has been establishing and growing our partnership with Southwold Primary School, which now provides weekly singing sessions for all of years 3 to 6, nearly two thirds of the school’s pupils.
Over the last year the children gave their first full-length lunchtime concert at Southwold Arts Festival, performed in the Britten-Pears Arts ‘Big Sing’ at Snape Maltings, and given a Christmas Carol Concert (including individual solos and choir anthems) in St. Edmund’s Church.
Singing has also grown deeper into the school culture, with much more regular singing in school assemblies and other celebration services such as Harvest and St Edmund’s Day. Next year we hope to develop more opportunities for visiting workshops and special ‘one-off’ singing activities, broadening the children’s horizons to other musical genres and performances opportunities.
Thank you to everyone who has supported this provision for Southwold Primary School. If you would like to contribute, please visit the Donate page our Just Giving page.
A look forward to 2024…

‘Celebration’ 2024
2024 also sees another exciting step forward for Southwold Primary School Choir with their invitation to perform for the Britten-Pears Arts ‘Celebration’ 2024.
For one unforgettable week each year, Snape Maltings Concert Hall is given over to a range of schools and community music-making groups, who perform concerts each night. Southwold Primary School Choir will be performing on Friday 15th March 2024. For a flavour of what to expect, watch a film of highlights from last year’s event here on the Celebration webpage.
